SPOTLIGHT

Water Treatment Projects

Escondido, California

City of Escondido Vista Water Treatment Plant

Major refurbishment of controls, instrumentation, and process equipment for a 90MGD water treatment plant. The scope of EETS’s work included the following:

Vacaville, California

City of Vacaville Water Treatment Plant

EETS was engaged to design the expansion of the diatomaceous earth plant (DE) from 5 to 10 MGD capacity and to carry out a major refurbishment of all controls and instrumentation for the Treated Water Pump Station (TWPS). The complete scope of EETS’s work included the following:

Fremont, California

Alameda County Water District Water Treatment Pump 2 Recovery Hydro

ACWD owns and operates a 1.25MW conduit exemption type hydroelectric project on the main water supply pipeline to their Water Treatment Plant #2 (WTP#2). Four 250kW generators were replaced with 300kW turbine generator units, utilizing pumps as turbines. EETS’s design work included:

Oroville, California

Thermalito Microfiltration Plant

The existing water treatment plant at Thermalito consisted of a raw water pump station, a 6 MGD pressure filter system, a treatment building, hypochlorite tanks, a one million gallon clearwell, and two unlined settling ponds. Operating at a capacity of 3MGD, there were two banks, each with three pressure filters. This project involved expanding the system
through the installation of a 4MGD microfiltration plant, capable of delivering 4.5-4.8MGD for sustained periods. EETS was tasked with designing the microfiltration plant:
