Solar

Solar power generation has emerged as a prominent alternative to fossil fuel generation. It is renewable and clean, helping to reduce our country’s dependence on fossil fuels. Solar power also has a minimal carbon footprint, benefits from numerous government incentives aimed at enhancing the solar industry, and can effectively match peak time output with peak time demand.

GE Kern Solar Substation Design & Protection

GE Energy and EETS worked on this Kern County solar project:

Fresno, California

Vie-Del-Solar

Vie-Del Company contracted EETS to assist in designing a ground-mounted solar plant. The power generated would be transmitted to the Vie-Del plant through overhead lines installed on the company’s property, extending to the plant. This setup aimed to reduce the company’s reliance on purchased power by 60%. EETS was involved in the development of the 636kW photovoltaic solar 12.47kV interconnect.

Geyserville, California

Constellation Winery

Constellation Wines, progressing towards becoming the largest solar-powered winery, has invested in solar design and installation at its facilities in Sonoma and Monterey counties. EETS engineers provided all the electrical design drawings, detailed with specifications for reconnecting a 1MW solar plant at a 12kV system level at the Constellation Wines (Clos du Bois) location in Sonoma County.

STC Photovoltaic Plant

San Diego Gas & Electric identified the Valley Center, Pala, Creelman, and Lilac substations as sites for four significant photovoltaic additions that require energy storage devices. EETS was tasked with reviewing the designs of three of these four substations, as detailed below:

McClellan Park, California

Opti-Solar, Inc.

Opti-Solar, now a part of First Solar, was an amorphous-silicon thin-film PV module company located in the business park at McClellan Air Force Base. EETS was hired to design all electrical upgrades and infrastructure for the company, as outlined below:
